Frexh isn't just about fun however. Our hope is to connect communities from different walks of life including some of those who most need our assistance. Portions of the proceeds of Frexh will be directed to Wokai. Founded in 2007, Wokai is the first person-to-person non-profit internet platform that allows you to provide rural entrepreneurs in China with loan capital. You choose the borrower you want to support, make a tax-deductible contribution, and watch their repayments and progress over time. Since our launch in November 2008, Wokai has raised over US$200,000 in contributed loan capital, grown to over 5,100 users, and empowered over 370 borrowers in China to start small businesses. Wokai has been featured in Time, MSNBC, CNBC, Newsweek, San Francisco Chronicle, CCTV, Phoenix TV, and Bloomberg. Wokai is an emerging organization and fits the theme of our event.
